Top 5 hot hatches in UAE

Top 5 hot hatches in UAE

Dubai has always been known for exotic, sporty, and classic cars of different sizes and models. We all love to drive sporty and fancy cars, but the biggest issue that you’ll face as a driver is finding a parking spot. Oh… and traffic.

Unlike the traffic problem, there’s a solution for driving a sporty car without worrying about parking in tight spots, it’s called a hot hatch!

Here are some of the best hot hatches that you can find in the UAE that you must get if you care about performance, speed… and parking.

2017 Audi RS3

This beauty is the second most expensive one in the list, but it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds & has a top speed of 280 km/h. So what made us pick this car, well for starters it’s German engineering so you know it will be precise at the corners and also it is the fastest car on this list.

The Audi RS3 is a bit pricey, so the fuel economy isn’t really something you would care about, although if anyone asks why you bought it,  you could point to its 367 bhp or just speed away leaving them in your dust.

2017 Mercedes Benz A45 AMG

This is a different kind of monster to its German cousin, it weighs 35kg more at 1555kg but makes up for that with a little extra horsepower at 381bhp. That means off the line they’re pretty much the same, doing 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, but has a top speed capped off at 250 km/h.

This means that the Audi has a higher top speed, but living in the UAE it would be irresponsible to drive above the speed limit, which means unless it’s just about bragging rights both cars seem undeniably equal.

PS: This is the most expensive car on the list but it’s worth every Dirham.

 2017 Volkswagen Golf R

The Volkswagen Golf R, which replaced the discontinued R32 collection which some would call the best hot hatch range ever built, does not disappoint. Although it may not be as quick off the line doing 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a measly 280 bhp, it is, however, the lightest & the cheapest compared to the Audi RS3 and Mercedes Benz A45 AMG.

Why would you buy this car? Same top speed as the Mercedes A45 AMG, it’s a bit more graceful and sharper through the corners than the aforementioned German cousins. It may not be as luxurious as the Mercedes or the Audi but its got heart and we are all about the heart!

2017 BMW M135i

You really can’t talk about hot hatches without mentioning BMW 1 series‘s M135i. It has a perfect combination of “big engine: small car” formula, a 3.0L straight-six engine that produces a stunning 322 bhp that does 0-100 km/h in 4.7sec, a rear-wheel drive, and a crisp handling making it one of a kind in its class.

It may not be the only hot hatch that BMW released in the market but this is definitely one of the best.

2017 Opel Astra GTC

You might not see this in the streets on UAE as often as the rest of the list but, the Opel Astra GTC deserves to be here for multiple reasons; stylish look, and very comfortable. The GTC engine 1.6litre turbo and has nearly 200hbp and although it goes from 0  to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds which is relatively slower in the hot hatches world, the Astra GTC is still a very fun car to drive!
