5 summer car hacks every driver in the UAE should know

UAE’s hot summer temperatures can mean nothing but trouble. I mean seriously can you stand outside for more than 10 minutes? Of course not! So imagine how hard it is on your car!

Since we know how heartbreaking it is for you to see your car suffer in this heat, here are some tricks that can help you keep your car cool during the summer in the UAE.

Roll it down, crank it up

You always feel that heat wave hitting your face as soon as you open the car door during the day. To cool it down quickly, drive with the windows rolled down and the air con cranked up, this way the hot air will be forced out.

When the air inside the car is about the same temperature as the air outside, roll up the windows.

Steer away

Turn your steering wheel 180 degrees before getting out of the car. It will keep the side you touch safely in the shade and prevent you from burning your hands.

Under pressure

Make sure you inspect your tires, you really don’t want to change your tire at noon. Make sure that the tire pressure is at the recommended level. Remember, tire pressure changes with the rising temperatures so you may want to release some pressure from your tires. You can find the right pressure on the sidewall of your tire to see what the pressure should be. You can check it with a hand pressure gauge or the guys at the service shop can do it for you.

Stay cool, car

Hot temperatures and low coolant levels increase the risk of your engine overheating, and since you can’t control the hot temperatures, make sure that the car has plenty of coolant. And while you’re at it, check the hoses and oil levels and make sure you don’t delay changing the oil, it helps your engine fight the increased summer temperatures.

Bring the shade

We know that sometimes you are forced to park your car outside all day, that’s why you should invest in a good sunshade to block some of the sun from getting into the car.

And last but not least, if you are ever stuck in traffic, stay calm and listen to our stuck-in-traffic playlist.

Remember to stay hydrated 🙂
