Just in case you didn’t know, The Frankfurt Motor Show is currently happening in Frankfurt, Germany (Obviously) until 24th September and it is one of the largest car shows in the world where all the popular car brands flex their muscles (and creativity) and give us a glance of concept and future cars.
We’ve witnessed multiple epic cars that debuted during the previous editions of the show such as the Jaguar F-Type, the Subaru WRX STI, the Tesla Model X, and the Fiat 500 by Gucci Begets.
Tens of impressive cars were unveiled at this year’s edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show Here are the ones that we can’t wait to see in the UAE market:
Mercedes-AMG Project ONE
Project One is AMG’s latest supercar and its first hypercar. ProjectOne is a formula1 car for the #road with a V6 turbo hybrid F1 engine and a top speed of 350kph. AMG CEO, Tobias Moers told Top Gear that “the Project One “is still officially a concept because it’s not ready for homologation.” The car will cost $2.5 million (AED 9.2 million) and only 275 cars will be produced which are all sold out already.
Kia ProCeed Concept
Kia has revealed the stunning Proceed Concept, a shooting brake revealed at the Frankfurt motor show with its unique design for the brand the low roofline and muscular proportions. It gives us a first hint at how the next-gen Proceed range could look.
Bentley Continental GT
Where do we start with this masterpiece? The 6.0-litre W12? The fact that it goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 330kph? Or maybe the slick design? Not to mention the interior and the ‘diamond-in-diamond’ quilting pattern, or the new dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen that’s fit on a panel of wood veneer, and a digital instrument cluster set. Yep, this is the new Bentley Continental GT.
Land Rover Discovery SVX
I think we all agree here that Land Rover has always owned off-roading and the outdoors. The official press release out of the Frankfurt Motor Show bills the 2018 Land Discovery SVX as “the most extreme Land Rover yet”. It is as mean as it looks and a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine to back it up.
What a better successor to the good old California than this 591-hp twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 that goes by the name of Portofino? Ferrari has shown the Portofino in the metal for the first time at the Frankfurt motor show with promising signs that it will have a notable improvement over its predecessor that makes it lighter and faster. 0 to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 320 kph, we are sure it’ll carry the California’s legacy forward.
Hyundai i30 N
Looks like Hyundai is entering the hot hatches game with the debut of the i30 N. The first car under the N series has a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can go from 0 to 100kph in 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 250kph. It definitely checks all the boxes that makes the Hyundai i30 N a serious competitor to the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Ford Focus RS, and The Honda Civic Type R.
Honda Urban EV Concept
One of the biggest surprises at the Frankfurt Motor Show and our absolute favorite! The Honda Urban EV perfectly combines ultra-futuristic machines and classical design cues; it looks like the first generation Honda Civic crossed with a Mini Cooper. The interior is a minimalist paradise, with almost no buttons or switches on the dashboard or the steering wheel. There is a noticeable superwide touch screen which spans nearly the entire interior dashboard, offering a view Honda describes as “panoramic.”
